Odekerken-Schröder, Gaby

Extraordinary Professor, Department of marketing and Supply Chain Management

Gaby Odekerken-Schröder holds a chair in the customer-centric service science at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. Her research has been published in several major journals and her teaching time is dedicated to developing high quality courses for bachelor, master, PhD and executive students.

Service Science is a new research discipline that studies service from a multidisciplinary perspective. Here Odekerken-Schröder combines her marketing background with insights from information management, technology and design.

An important component in this area is service innovation. In that field Odekerken-Schröder looks at new possibilities and at other ways of realizing products or services. Additionally, the customer is always at the centre of her research. She doesn’t depart from what the service provider can deliver or wants to deliver, but also looks at what the customer wants and if s/he experiences (new) services as an added value.
