Derwall, Jeroen

Assistant Professor, Department of Finance

Jeroen Derwall is assistant professor at Maastricht University, working for the Department of Finance. He is also part-time assistant professor at Tilburg University (Tilburg Sustainability Center), and co-founder of the European Centre for Corporate Engagement (ECCE). Previously he was also responsible for postgraduate and executive education for the Dutch Financial Analysts Association (VBA) at VU Amsterdam, Duisenberg School of Finance, and for MBA education at TIAS Business School. He obtained his PhD in Financial Management from RSM Erasmus University, where he also worked as Assistant Professor until 2007. His internationally published research in finance covers sustainable investment, mutual fund management, and performance analysis.

His research on sustainable finance has received the Moskowitz Prize from the Center of Responsible Business at UC Berkeley (2005), the Finance & Sustainability Research Award of the French Social Investment Forum (2005, 2007), and the PRI/Sustainalytics Best Paper Award (2012).
