Special Professor, Department of Finance

Dennis Bams is an Special Professor of Financial Management and Financial Markets with a primary focus on Risk Management at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. Currently, he is also the Integral Risk Manager of Philips Pension Fund, and from 2003 to 2013 he used to be Senior Vice President of Decision Analytics at De Lage Landen, an Affiliate of Rabobank in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. His research focuses on three main themes. The first tries to adequately survey risks in the world of finance. The second theme is concerned with academic proposals for the so-called Basel III agreement, proposed by the Bank of International Settlements (BIS).
