Brüggen, Alexander

Associate Professor, Department of Accounting and Information Management

Alexander Brüggen is an Associate Professor of Management Accounting at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. After finishing his Masters programme in 2001, he received a PhD from the same institution in 2005. The title of his dissertation is: Incentives in Multi-Task Settings. Brüggens’ main research interests are performance evaluation and incentive schemes, internal capital markets and experimental research in accounting.

Besides academic research, Brüggen is involved in several projects with organisations, including Lufthansa Cityline GmbH, Federation des Experts Comptables Européens (FEE) and the Authoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM). In 2008 he received the ‘JMAR best paper award’ for his paper “The role of financial incentives and social incentives in multi-task settings”, co-authored with Frank Moers.
